Role Summary

You develop and improve our fleet management software for autonomous mobile robots in warehouse and intralogistics environments. The role focuses primarily on software development, including core platform functionality, robot integration, mission and traffic management, and interfaces to customer systems. You may also support deployments at customer sites, including software configuration, commissioning, integration, and troubleshooting.

Purpose of the Role

Build a reliable and scalable fleet management platform for mobile robotics and ensure that software development remains closely connected to real-world customer requirements and deployments.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development and Architecture

  • Develop and maintain core functionality of our platform.
  • Design and implement features for robot coordination, mission management, routing, traffic management, and system integrations.
  • Improve the scalability, reliability, and performance of the platform.
  • Write maintainable, tested, and well-documented software.

Robot and System Integration

  • Integrate different robot manufacturers and communication interfaces into the platform.
  • Develop and maintain APIs and interfaces to customer systems such as WMS, MES, and ERP systems.
  • Support testing and validation of new robot and system integrations.

Testing and Operations Reliability

  • Develop automated and manual tests for new and existing functionality.
  • Troubleshoot software, communication, routing, task execution, and integration issues.
  • Monitor and improve system performance and operational reliability.
  • Identify root causes of bugs and implement robust fixes.

Product Development and Deployment Support

  • Translate product and customer requirements into technical solutions.
  • Contribute to technical architecture and product development decisions.
  • Use feedback from real-world deployments to continuously improve the platform and development processes.

Technical Skills

  • Experience with robotics and/or industrial software deployments.
  • Understanding of autonomous robots, fleet management systems, warehouse automation, and/or intralogistics processes.
  • Experience with Linux-based systems, including APIs, logs, and software troubleshooting.
  • Python, C++, JavaScript, and AI-based coding tools.
  • Experience with ROS, REST APIs, MQTT, Docker, or cloud-based deployments.

Soft Skills

  • Either fluent German and conversational English, or fluent English and conversational German. Our company language is English, but our customers speak German.
  • Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Travel Requirements

Travel may be necessary during initial site assessments, software deployment, robot commissioning, troubleshooting, customer training, and post-deployment reviews throughout Germany. Travel can be up to 20% in one month. When not travelling, working from the office is required.
